I spent countless hours on the Dumb Friends League Shelter website. Days, weeks, months went by looking for the prefect dog. We went to the shelter's on a weekly basis and it was getting a little out of hand. Bobby's first question when he got home would be, "did you check the website?" Of course I checked the website.
We became dog obsessed. One Saturday morning, Bobby looked to see what new dogs were up for adoption. He noticed a cute little 10 week old English Pointer mix (Charlie) and his brother (Leo). He said we should run to the shelter and see if one of them could be our dog. We hopped in the car and headed to the shelter. About an hour later...we were the proud parents of a 10 week old little boy (Leo) that we later named Porter.
Isn't he adorable??

Drivin' cross country!
We said our goodbye’s in Pittsburgh and we were on the move. Literally. We were moving halfway across the country and we couldn't wait to get there. We packed up the bunny (the nickname I gave my car many years ago) and hit the road.
The trip was going to be 5 days of Bobby and Meghan time…in the car…for 5 days…oh my. The directions were very simple. Get on 70 until you get into Colorado, then ,make our way to Castle Rock. Our new home sweet home. That is exactly what we did, with a few stops along the way.
Here we are crossing the border into WV from Pennsylvania. Wild and Wonderful.
We had to make our fist meal at Cracker Barrel. Lots of fried food and gravy. Yummy!
This angle is never flattering. Triple chin is never a good thing. Bobby was quite the photographer on this trip!
We made a quick side trip to Overland Park, KS to visit our friends Karyn and Steve. Unfortunately, Karyn was out of town but it was still great to see Steve!
This is what we saw for 2 days through Kansas and Colorado. It was beautiful for the first hour and then it got pretty boring. Bobby swears that he saw a coyote run across the road several times. Do you think I ever saw the coyote? Nope. I still think he was making it up to keep himself entertained!
COLORADO!! They actually have a little parking lot on the side of the highway so that you can take pictures with the sing. This people in Colorado are so smart!
We drove straight to our new house just to make sure it was still there. It was a surreal moment. We had been driving for 5 days and we arrived at our new house...our house that we owned (well, we would own in 24 hours). The closing was the next morning and we were so excited! No more throwing money away to our landlord!

Love/Hate with my computer...
I have a love/hate relationship with our new computer. Yes, it is cute and small and it is a laptop so it makes life easier BUT, I cannot figure out how to do all the things that I love to do. Number one...I cannot figure out how to download my pictures from my camera's to the computer. It is like "he" (the new computer) wants nothing to do with my silly little pictures. So unfair.
I have decided that tomorrow is the day. Me and this computer are going to be spending A LOT of quality time together because whether "he" likes it or not there will be pictures downloaded TOMORROW.
I guess there really isn't a number two. Everything else about my cute little machine is great. Wish me luck tomorrow!

Road trip Part 1...Pittsburgh!
It seems like so long ago that we made our way across the country. It was exactly one month ago today that we closed on our house...I can barely believe it myself!
Our first stop on our road trip was back home to the 'burg. We squeezed in a little bit of time with as much family and friends as possible over the 5 days that we were there! It never seems like there are enough hours in the day when we visit everyone!
I was very bad about taking pictures and I only took a few but here it what I came up with. I had to make sure to throw in a picture of the cats Benny and Bug-Z because they are so cute!

Bad hair days.
I miss my old job for many reasons. The people that I worked with, the clients/brides that I grew to love, my boss, interesting people, the crazy homeless people, being downtown and lunch with my work buddies are just a few of the things that I have missed. Most importantly, I miss my hair product discount and my free hair services.
When I was in Chicago last week (blog post to come soon), I tagged along with my friend Martha to her hair appointment and decided to join in the fun! It was so strange and a bit scary, having someone else cut my hair (I’m sorry Rodney) but she did a pretty good job! I haven't gotten a new color yet because I cannot spend hundreds of dollars on hair color while we are still buying furniture. We also just put our first mortgage payment in the mail yesterday so hair color is the low man on the totem pole…
If you see me anytime soon, please try not to focus on the severe roots that I have. It is a sad day when a girl can’t get her hair colored. Boxed color from WalMart, here I come!
I wanted to share a few pictures of my favorite people back at Andre Chreky! If you are in DC, you should stop by and see Rodney for a cut and Faviola for color – it doesn’t get much better!

Slacker...
So much traveling and so little blogging. I have been fending for myself back home in CO for almost two weeks now while you know who is off in Chicago. While he has been away I made good use of my time by flying to Texas for 5 days to have an early Christmas with my mom's side of the family (pictures to come soon). I then went home for 2 days and in that 2 days I took down the wallpaper in the spare bedroom AND I shoveled the driveway and sidewalk which consisted of about 8 inches of CO snow. I now realize how hard that really is!
After the 2 days at home, I hopped back on a plane to the Windy City! I now sit here in the "business center" at a hotel in Chicago. I have no pictures to share but I wanted to let everyone now that we are still around and I will make sure to post some pictures soon!

Going away party
First, I have to thank Bobby for telling me where my camera cord was. It turns out that he knew the whole time but I never thought to ask him...oops.
I wanted to show off some of the pictures from our last night out in DC. All of Bobby's friends met at the usual "watering hole" for a double going away party. Our friend Jon will also be leaving the job so they all shed a tear together. I decided to drag along a few of the girls from work so it was one big PAR-TAY!
It was great to see everyone and we hope that we can see you all again soon!!
