So many places to see...

So little time!

Here are a few pictures form a few weekends of sightseeing. We try to see a different place every weekend and of course Porter comes too.

Ya'll come back now, ya' hear!

Ahhhhh, Texas. I have a love - hate relationship with this state. My momma and I try to make at least one trip to Texas per year to visit my Grammy and my Aunt and Uncle.

When I arrived at the airport and stepped out the door I knew that this time might be a "hate". After now living in Denver for 7 months (we went in May), the humidity was overwhelming. I forgot how much I hate moisture in the air. I felt like my jeans were sticking to the backs of my legs...not good.

Anyways, I met my mom at the airport (yay) and then thankfully Uncle John came and swooped us up in the truck with the AC blasting to the point that I was freezing but it was much better than felling the humidity!

Thankfully they live on a lake with a boat and some jet skis and they have a pool steps from the house. This trip may not be so bad after all!

This is when my mom and I discovered my Uncle John's "Don't mess with Texas" hard hat.

Getting ready to go out on the lake

Let me tell you a little story about me, the lake and a jet ski...
So, my Uncle John says that he needs to go get gas in one of the jet skis and asks if I want to take the other one just for fun. I of course said yes because I do love jet skis! As we are driving along down the lake (which is the largest man-made lake in Texas with 300 miles of coast line!), a piece of paper flies out of the "glove-box" which I then realize is the registration. Uncle John keeps on going and I have to turn around to go back and get it. After 5 minutes of circling around the paper I finally was able to pick it up. Yes, I could have jumped in the water but I didn't want to get my hair wet! Thankfully it was in a plastic bag so all was well and off I went to find Uncle John...
No Uncle John in sight. I drive over to one of the water accessible gas stations and he is nowhere to be found. I go back out int the big part of the lake and see 20 other jet skis but none of them are him. I start heading back towards the house but then realize that I am seeing houses that do not look familiar to me. I keep going anyways. About an hour later I realize that I am lost...really, really lost and it is hot. My shoulders are on fire and I feel like I could puke from the choppy water. I drive around some more trying to find my way and by this point it has been close to 2 hours. I finally see some people hanging out on their dock so I head over to ask them which way to go.
I say, "I am sooooo lost and I am visiting from out of town but My Aunt and Uncle live by the golf course, can you tell me which way to go to get back?". I then realize that this "man" is like a 10 year old boy...my luck. He runs inside to get his dad who then asks me, "which golf course?"
Needless to say I made it back in one piece. I was about 30 minutes away from their house in the totally wrong direction! They had the police and the lake patrol searching for me...oops.
I like to call that part of my life, "Lost on the lake".

Kent State reunion!!

So one year I decided to go to college...ad stay for one year and one year only. In that one year I made a few great friends who just happen to either live or have lived in Denver! Let me tell you how we all met. Fist day of college I met my three totally random roommates, Carrie, Katie and Margeaux. 8 years later, Carrie and I are still chatting away! I also got a chance to meet Sarah who lived right next door to us in good old Musselman hall!

When I found out that we would be moving to Denver I was so excited because I knew that Carrie lived here and she LOVED it! As it turned out, she was no longer going to be living here. Carrie and her fiance were moving away...sad. Carrie then told me that Sarah was moving to Denver in November (same as us) and that I should call her...so I did! 7 months later we all came together when Carrie came to visit!

Sarah and I get to hang out all the time and Carrie will be joining us again soon as her and Tommy will be moving back to CO - yay!!

Here are a few pics from when Carrie was here!

Old roomies!

Carrie got engaged while she was here visiting - how exciting!! (mine on the left, Carrie on the right)

Yes, I made Carrie put her hand like that!

We stopped by the Cherry Creek Farmers Market

Well, who would have thunk that eight year later we would all be so close and in the same city halfway across the country from Ohio...fate, I guess!

Roses, roses everywhere...and a strawberry too!

Who would have thought that I would be little Miss Domestic?! Yep, that's right, I am giving myself that title after successfully keeping my flowers alive!

When we came to look at our house before we actually bought it I fell in love with the rose bushes in the backyard. I knew that I would never see them again because I figured that I would kill them within the first glimpse of summer...but oh no, they are here and in full bloom!

Yes, we also have strawberries growing in our yard...we haven't actually eaten any yet!

Look at those roses!

These ones are my favorites - they are a cream color with pink edges!

I honestly don't know what to do with all of them. Part of me wants to cut them all off and put them in vases all over our house but then I will be so sad when they are gone. What is a girl to do with her roses?!

Matchmaker's!

Yes, you read that correctly...Matchmaker's. Bobby and I should open our own business to set up singles! Before Bobby and I moved to CO we had said for months that we had to get our friends Katie (my co-worker) and Jon (Bobby's co-worker) to meet. I talked about Jon to Katie and I made sure to mention Katie to Jon but nothing ever came of it...until our going away party! We finally introduced the two love-birds the day before we left DC which was not the best timing on our part. We never got to hang out as a group and Jon was moving away from DC a few weeks later too! I kept telling them that Bobby and I started out long-distance and look at us now!!

Anyways, the two of them hit it off and are now attached at the hip (even though they live in different cities...for now). The best part of the story is that Katie's twin sister and her husband (Eileen and Kyle) live here in Colorado! So Jon and Katie made a trip out here to visit everyone which was so much fun. Here are a few pictures from a night out at a down and dirty country bar...

On another note. Kyle and Eileen are both in the military and Kyle is currently serving a one year tour in Afghanistan. Please keep Kyle in your prayers!

Jeepin' to Colorado!

Who knew that the jeep would be able to trek across the country with no problem at all?! I sure didn't! Bobby's jeep was left behind in Pittsburgh a few months ago and it just so happens that my in-laws love a good road trip! The two of them hopped in the jeep and drove from the 'burg to Colorado in a 72 hour trip! Here are a few picture from their trip here in Colorado.

They re the tiny little dots in the middle of the picture. This is on the stage at Red Rocks Amphitheatre.

Here they are a little closer up

This was somewhere in Rampart Range which is about an hour from our house...I don't remember exactly how we got there now that I think about it.

Where do I even begin...

Wow, it really has been a long time...and so much has changed. I don't feel like I need to go into detail as you all know what happened. All I need to say is, I love you Timmy!

Here are a few pictures of the adorable animals that all stayed together in one house while we were all at my parents!
